Reading for 2/1

There were some interesting articles in the reading regarding letters and text messaging. The letter portion of the reading was particularly interesting because it explained how a relationship is built between the reader and the person writing the article. The author goes on to explain how it is a rhetorical way of getting one's writing to the reader, this is because the reader cannot disturb the conversation flow as one would in a normal verbal conversation. The text messaging part I did not enjoy, but nevertheless I still learned something. I learned that it is more convenient in other countries to text compared to any other medium simply because it is the cheapest way to communicate.
